Garba Dan Saley LAOUALI, a member of TLP-Niger, was arrested and placed under a committal order in Maradi, accused of ‘disseminating information likely to disturb public order’ for sharing a notice of a demonstration already in circulation on social networks. He was provisionally released on 27 April 2020 and faces ‘a prison sentence of six (6) months to three (3) years and a fine of one million (1,000,000) to five million (5,000,000) CFA francs’ (around €1,500 to €7,600).
