On the morning of Tuesday 29 September 2020, a new day of mobilisation by the FNDC against Alpha CONDÉ's third term, Oumar SYLLA, alias Foniké Menguè, Deputy Coordinator of Tournons La Page Guinée and in charge of mobilisation and actions by the FNDC, was assaulted and kidnapped by the Guinean police in the commune of Matoto. He was charged with unlawful assembly and remanded to the civil prison in Conakry. On 28 January 2021, Oumar Sylla was sentenced to 11 months in prison for his work in favour of the constitution and human rights in Guinea. He was charged with ‘illegal assembly, disturbing public order, undermining state security and destroying public property’. On 7 September 2021, Oumar Sylla was released from prison by decree following the military coup of 5 September 2021.
