On 13 December 2016, Seyni HAROUNA, first deputy secretary general of SYNACEB, co-signed a joint communiqué on the synergy of action between education unions and the government. He was arrested on 17 March 2017 for ‘usurpation of the title and status of teacher’ and released on 23 March 2017, the prosecutor having not initiated any proceedings due to insufficient evidence.
