In June 2024, he filed a complaint with the CRIEF against the Swiss oil company Addax & Oryx Group. He accused the company, as well as individuals close to President Doumbouya, of corruption in relation to the negotiation of an irregular contract for the supply of petrol and diesel, as well as the provision of toxic fuel to the Guinean population, which allegedly endangered public health and the environment. Afterwards, he was warned by a confidential source that agents from the Central Directorate of Judicial Investigations of the National Gendarmerie (DCIJ-GN) were planning to abduct him. A CRIEF judge also privately urged him to exercise caution. As a result, Alseny Farinta Camara reduced his media appearances and instead prepared to mark Nelson Mandela International Day on July 18, 2024, with an “anti-corruption marathon” symbolizing the governance of General Mamadi Doumbouya’s military regime. On July 17, 2024, he learned that two of his FNDC colleagues had been abducted and forcibly disappeared. An officer from the Mobile Intervention and Security Unit (CMIS) warned him that he could also be subjected to enforced disappearance if he went ahead with his plan. He then cancelled the event and instead submitted a detailed memorandum to President Doumbouya, calling for accountability regarding the irregular fuel supply contract in Guinea and the distribution of toxic fuel to the population. On August 5, 2024, several armed gendarmes raided his family home. He was not present at the time. After being informed of the raid and suspecting an attempted abduction, he fled the country the same day to Guinea-Bissau, where he obtained temporary residency. On November 26, 2024, he received a summons from the Guinean Ministry of the Interior in Guinea-Bissau, inviting him to attend a meeting on December 2, 2024. Fearing arbitrary arrest, he refused and fled to Dakar, Senegal, where he went into hiding under surveillance.
